The Outside RoomThis bijoux Islington courtyard epitomises the image of an urban garden being used as "an outside room". Large glass doors can be thrown open from the dining room to unite the inside and outside rooms.Directly opposite the glass doors, a sultry, salmon pink wall with a stunning Boldstone Sculpture water feature provides a stunning focal point for the entire lower ground floor. Atmospheric garden lighting highlights the water feature and textured, evergreen planting at night, so extending the enjoyment of the garden throughout the year. Simplicity is key in small spaces. Careful attention was paid to ensure the correct proportions of the salmon wall and raised beds. Hardwood was used for the decking to complement the outdoor furniture. Cream walls were used to echo the interior colour scheme. A view from above. A place to dine and unwind. The simple lines and good proportions maximise the use and enjoyment of the space. - Islington, London
