Project Description

Contemporary Courtyard

The crisp contemporary lines of sawn sandstone, clipped box, yew and pleached hornbeam form the structure to this contemporary courtyard garden in Suffolk, whilst perennials and grasses introduce a softer feel bringing texture, movement and light.

An L-shaped rill edged with Iris sibirica creates distinct areas within the courtyard. Stepping stones over the rill lead to a bench and to the main seating area enclosed with lavender and olive trees.

This garden was selected as one of the Best Designs of 2009 by the Garden Design Journal – see Media page
