A new contemporary walled courtyard garden was designed around an existing swimming pool to create a sheltered and stylish space to swim, sunbathe and entertain friends and family in this swimming pool garden design.

A new sleek summerhouse was built at the end of the swimming pool.  Lime rendered walls capped with sawn sandstone coping stones were built on three sides of the courtyard design with one side left open to overlook the tennis court and the wonderful surrounding vistas. Pleached hornbeam rise above the walls to bring a sense of classic formality and added shelter to the pool area.

The pool was re-designed to a more contemporary rectangular shape, re-tiled internally and new pool coping stones were laid to match the new sawn sandstone in the courtyard.

Several seating and lounging areas were designed within the courtyard to enjoy the sun and different views across the swimming pool garden design throughout the day.  A large oak pergola over the main seating area has an outdoor fire place to extend the use of the garden during the evenings.  Subtle garden lighting highlights the planting, urns and a sculpture as well as providing atmospheric lighting over the seating area.
