I’m so excited and delighted to be the joint winner of the Garden Jewel SGD award sponsored by Brett Landscaping at the 2017 SGD Awards on Friday. Sitting in the audience and hearing the gorgeous Ann-Marie Powell announce that the standard in this category was so high that the judges decided there would be joint winners – I looked at the screen of the finalists gardens of the Garden Jewel Award and truly believed that the other two gardens were the winners.  Jane Brockbank’s wonderful Coach House garden was announced as the first winner.  Then as soon as Ann-Marie started reading out what the judges said about the second garden: “Another incredibly accomplished entry in the Garden Jewel category.  The clever use of a difficult space creates a relaxing corner in a busy urban setting.  The sinuous path creates a lovely sense of journey and achieves an amazing amount of movement and flow in a space of this size & shape.” I realised that it was mine!

The SGD Garden Jewel awards are like the Oscars of garden design and it’s a wonderful occasion to meet and mingle with fellow designers, contractors and suppliers.  Thank you to all involved and well done to all the finalists and winners of the Garden Jewel Awards!  Photos of the Sinuous Path garden will be on the portfolio page soon!
